I know the four-state area is largely beer drinking
territory, but I’m sure – like me – there are those of you that enjoy spirits
of all types. The Four State Food Critic
enjoys a nice bottle of wine from time to time, especially with a good meal or
even during cocktail time with friends.
If you remember one thing about wine, it should be “drink what you like”
– no matter if it’s red/white, cheap/expensive, or even sweet/dry.
Bogle is a California winery currently offering eleven (11)
selections of wine, and their Merlot is one of the Four State Food Critic’s
favorites.
If you enjoy a full-bodied and big red, then this is
definitely a brand to try. It’s got
notes of cherry, currant, and fig that combine for bold flavor, but it still
has a smooth finish.
The price averages around $10 a bottle (across all
vintages), so it’s a nice value and good for any meal or even as an “every day”
wine. Ask for it at any local liquor store
that offers a moderate wine selection.

offerings), check them out at www.boglewinery.com.
